Red and red leaf forecast schedule in Japan in 2025
The Japan Tourism Promotion Agency (JNTO) has just suggested a schedule for forecasting the golden leaf and red leaves in 2025, implemented by Japan Meteorological Corporation.

The leaf change time is forecast to start from the beginning of November in Hokkaido and last until mid -December in the southern region.
Accordingly, the golden leaf season in Sapporo and Aomori is scheduled to start from 6-11. Other localities in turn from mid-November to the end of November, such as Hiroshima from November 21, Osaka from November 24, Tokyo from November 26, Sendai from November 29, while Fukuoka and Kagoshima will be the most brilliant from November 28.
The red leaf season usually appears a few days later. Sapporo changes color from 7-11, Aomori from 14-11, Sendai from November 26, Tokyo from November 30. The destinations attract tourists like Osaka, Nagoya and Kyoto in the first to mid-December. In the South, Fukuoka, Kagoshima and Kochi starts red leaves from 9 to 12-12.

Visitors can experience outstanding destinations to admire the fall of Japan. In Hokkaido, Moerenuma Park and the Daisetsuzan Mountains are where the maple leaves turn color early. Tohoku has Towada lake and Nyuto Onsen hot spring in the middle of the red leaves.
Tokyo is attractive to Shinjuku Gyoen, Rikugien garden or along the sides of Gingko Avenue. Kyoto is famous for Kiyomizu-Dera, Eikando and Arashiyama. Meanwhile, Osaka has Osaka Castle, Minoo Park, and Hiroshima is Shukkeien Park.
Jnto noted the forecast schedule for reference only, because the time when leaf changes color depends heavily on weather conditions. However, the period from November to mid -December is considered an opportunity for visitors to admire the brilliant Japanese scenery with the yellow color of Ngan Hanh and the red color of maple leaves.
