Dan Hoa commune organized 4 free screenings of the movie “Red Rain” on October 10
To celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2026), Dan Hoa Commune General Service Center coordinated with the Hanoi City Cultural and Library Center to organize free screenings of the movie “Red Rain” to serve people in the area.
According to the plan, a total of 4 screenings will be held in villages in Dan Hoa commune.

On September 29, the film was screened at Hoang Ky Village Cultural House. On September 30, the program continued to take place at Dong Tien Village Cultural House. On October 2, “Red Rain” will be shown at the Cultural House of Thi Nguyen village and on October 3, the film will come to people at the communal house yard of Tri Le village. All screenings start at 7:30 p.m. and are completely free for the public to attend. Through this activity, the Organizing Committee hopes to bring quality cinematographic works closer to local people, while creating an additional form of community cultural activity during the celebration of Capital Liberation Day. According to the organizer, “Red Rain” is not only a film but also recreates historical stories, helping viewers understand more about the sacrifices of previous generations. Thereby, the program aims to foster love for the homeland, national pride and sense of responsibility among officials, party members and people for the process of building Dan Hoa commune as well as Hanoi capital. Film screening activities are also associated with the implementation of Action Program No. 08-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on Vietnamese cultural development. In particular, the city aims to bring cultural values deeply into life, continuing to build the image of Hanoi people as elegant, civilized, compassionate, knowledgeable, creative, socially responsible and dedicated. Film screenings are also expected to contribute to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people and create an additional channel to access official information in the context of the amount of information on social networks increasing and not all content being verified. To ensure the quality of screenings, Dan Hoa Commune General Service Center and Hanoi City Cultural and Library Center will arrange technical staff and necessary machinery and equipment systems. Leaders of Hoang Ky, Dong Tien, Thi Nguyen and Tri Le villages were asked to coordinate in preparing locations, power sources, tables and chairs, while ensuring security and order, electrical safety and environmental sanitation. The villages will also arrange forces to support the screening crew, widely announce the schedule and encourage people to attend on time. “Red Rain” is a movie produced by the State, on the theme of revolutionary war, with a script by writer Chu Lai and directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen. The work is built from inspiration and fictional elements based on the 81 days and nights of fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972 by our army and people.
The film was released at the end of August 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, and quickly received the attention of a large audience. After about a month of release in theaters, “Red Rain” achieved revenue of more than 713 billion VND.
Instead of just exploiting war from an epic perspective, the film focuses more on human fate in dire circumstances. Images of young soldiers, doctors on the battlefield or mothers waiting for news of their children are portrayed with everyday, intimate and emotional features.
The film has the participation of many young actors such as Do Nhat Hoang, Nguyen Phuong Nam, Nguyen Dinh Khang, Ha Anh, Steven Nguyen, Le Hoang Long and experienced artists such as People’s Artist Tran Luc, Dinh Thuy Ha, Than Thuy Ha, Hua Vi Van and Lam Vissay.
At the XXIV Vietnam Film Festival organized by the Department of Cinema, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “Red Rain” won the Golden Lotus Award and a number of awards in the categories of Outstanding Cinematography, Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Art Designer and Outstanding Sound. In early 2026, at the 2025 Kite Award organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association, the film continued to receive the Golden Kite Award, the Outstanding Director Award for a Feature Film and the Outstanding Supporting Actor Award for Nguyen Phuong Nam for the role of Ta.
At Blue Star 2025, “Red Rain” was also awarded many awards, including Best Movie, Most Popular Actor for Steven Nguyen as Quang, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor for Nguyen Phuong Nam and Outstanding Creator for Vu Viet Hung.

Bringing “Red Rain” to free screening in Dan Hoa commune not only creates more opportunities for people to access a historical film work, but also contributes to educating traditions and spreading cultural values in the community.
This activity also aims to foster the pride and sense of responsibility of today’s generation in the process of building and protecting the country, while contributing to building Hanoi according to the orientation of “Civilization – Civilization – Modernity – Happiness”.
