Hanoi was honored with two digital platforms iHanoi and HanoiWork

Hanoi City People's Committee was honored at the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards 2026 in the category "Excellent digital transformation state agency" with two platforms iHanoi and HanoiWork. One platform increases the connection between the government and the people, the other serves the digital working environment of the administrative apparatus, showing that the Capital's digital transformation is going deeply into both governance and public service provision.

At the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards (VDA) 2026 ceremony taking place on the afternoon of October 14 at the Military Radio and Television Center, Hanoi People’s Committee was honored in the category “Excellent digital transformation state agency”. The event was directed by the Vietnam Digital Media Association and organized by VietTimes Electronic Magazine under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Science and Technology. A representative of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology on behalf of the city government received the award for the iHanoi Digital Capital Citizen application and the unified digital workspace HanoiWork.

The two platforms are identified as important elements in Hanoi’s digital ecosystem, serving two different but closely linked groups of needs. While iHanoi aims to build a direct interaction channel between people and the government, HanoiWork focuses on digitizing the working environment of officials and civil servants. Simultaneously deploying these tools helps the city both expand digital services to serve society and optimize management processes within the administrative apparatus. Through iHanoi, people can access smart urban utilities, send feedback, make recommendations and monitor processing progress directly on mobile devices. To date, the application has recorded more than 6.2 million identification accounts and received a cumulative 227,661 feedback and recommendations. The scale of users shows that the platform is becoming one of the popular digital interaction channels between the people of the Capital and the authorities. Previously, iHanoi also led the Better List category “Innovative applications that should be installed” at Better Choice Awards 2026. In internal management activities, HanoiWork is built as a centralized digital working environment, supporting officials and civil servants to coordinate work, exchange information and monitor progress on the same platform. The system is currently deployed in 180 units with about 84,000 accounts. Digitizing the process has helped reduce the time to resolve some administrative procedures significantly, from about 1-2 hours to about 15 minutes. According to data from the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, HanoiWork has formed 183 digital workspaces, recorded 135,490 meeting schedules and 9,163 approval flows. More than 2.69 million messages for work exchange were also sent on the platform. These numbers reflect the increasingly deep application of technology in coordination, work handling and administration at units of the city government apparatus. The 2026 Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards attracted 467 entries in 5 categories. After two rounds of appraisal, the Organizing Committee selected 56 organizations, solutions and 3 outstanding individuals to honor. The change in the evaluation criteria this year is that the focus is not only on the scale of technology deployment but is shifting strongly to actual efficiency, with attention paid to labor productivity, operating costs and people’s satisfaction. According to Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of Vietnam Digital Media Association, with the message “Honoring real value – Spreading the digital future”, the award aims at solutions that create practical value and have the ability to spread sustainably. The fact that iHanoi and HanoiWork were both recognized at VDA 2026 shows that Hanoi’s digital transformation results are being shown by specific indicators, from the number of people using the service, feedback received to the scale of application in the administrative apparatus and work processing time. From two approaches: serving citizens and innovating internal governance, Hanoi is gradually building a digital government ecosystem with a broader range of applications. Being honored at the Vietnam Digital Awards 2026 not only recognizes the city’s technology application process but also shows that the digital transformation orientation is moving towards measurable results, contributing to improving the efficiency of government operations and the quality of service to people and businesses.
