Octagon House became a weekend music meeting place in the heart of Hanoi

On the evening of September 27, the program "Community Music Space - Weekend Rendezvous" continued to bring music to the public at the Octagon House, Hoan Kiem Lake walking street. International melodies, youthful songs and compositions about Hanoi create a close art space, contributing to enriching cultural life in the central area of the Capital.

This week’s program is conducted by Hanoi College of Arts with the participation of young artists, students and trainees of the school.

Held in the open space of Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, the show not only meets the art enjoyment needs of residents and tourists but also contributes to bringing music closer to community life.

The Octagon House has since continued to become a familiar artistic meeting place every weekend, where the public can stop to enjoy many different music styles in the central space of Hanoi.

The show opened with the medley “Isn’t She Lovely”. The cheerful melody and the band’s performance quickly created a vibrant atmosphere, opening up a colorful musical journey. From international sounds, the program switched to Vietnamese songs with “Desire” and “Hanoi Love” performed by Trong Hieu.

If “Desire” brings a positive spirit and the will to rise, “Love for Hanoi” creates a calm with familiar feelings for the Capital.

Amidst the space of Hoan Kiem Lake, melodies written about Hanoi further create the connection between music, landscape and the listener’s emotions.

The program continues with youthful colors through “Standing in Life” and “Sparkling Rainbow” performed by Nhu Quynh. Modern-style performances contribute to the diversity of the show, helping the show reach many different audience groups. Not only solo performances, the band also delivers energetic ensemble performances. “If I Ain’t Got You Shuffle” created a vibrant transition, while the songs “Applause” and “Take me home” performed by Minh Tuan continued to keep the show’s youthful rhythm. The night ended with “Sway” performed by Nhu Quynh and the band. The combination of vocals and ensemble creates a vibrant atmosphere at the end, leaving many emotions for the audience present in the walking street space. From a stage arranged in the middle of a public area, “Community Music Space – Weekend Meeting Point” shows the attraction of artistic activities when brought directly into the rhythm of urban life. The public not only comes to watch a single performance but also has the opportunity to experience many genres, styles and musical colors in the same show. The performances attract many different audiences, from the elderly and families to young children and tourists. The open atmosphere helps viewers easily immerse themselves in the program, turning the Octagon House stage into a common cultural space in the heart of the city.

Maintaining diverse art programs in the Hoan Kiem Lake area contributes to enriching the cultural life of the Capital, while also creating more attractiveness for Hanoi’s central space on weekends.

When art appears regularly in urban life, each program not only brings moments of entertainment and enjoyment but also expands opportunities for the public, especially the younger generation, to access music and many different types of art.

From international melodies to songs written about Hanoi, from performances by young artists to programs with traditional colors, the diversity of performance activities is contributing to the formation of a vibrant cultural space.

Thereby, music is increasingly present more closely in the daily lives of people and tourists coming to Hoan Kiem Lake area.
