Ho Chi Minh City spreads green lifestyle through lean vegetarian festival, welcoming over 150,000 visitors
Duong Thanh Dao, vice president of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association (FBA), said that through the Vegetarian Food Festival, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to lead the trend and lifestyle of “vegetarian and healthy living” and attract 150,000 tourists over five days.
Following the success of the 2023 Vegetarian Food Festival, which attracted more than 100,000 visitors in the Ang Sao Bridge area (formerly District 7), Ho Chi Minh City continues to expand its scale this year with the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival (Green Food Festival), which will be held at Binh Phu Park from October 31 to November 4, 2025. This is considered one of the largest and most extensive culinary festivals in Vietnam. A festival space with an area of over 7 hectares and over 200 booths.

This year’s festival brings together a rich and creative array of activities in the spirit of community connection. Contests such as “Green Master Chef Vietnam 2025”, “Green Future Chef Vietnam 2025” and “Healthy Drink Vietnam 2025” are a playground for chefs, bartenders and culinary students to create unique vegetarian dishes.

In addition, the festival space also features a vegetarian buffet area with over 100 dishes across three regions, and an OCOP – Organic – Macrobiotic area. Workshops, talks, art performances, chef demonstrations and more create an intersection of cuisine, culture and tourism.
According to the organizers, the festival space has been designed according to the “Zero Waste Green Festival” model, and all items, cups and biological boxes provided are made from recycled materials. The companion unit collects and processes all organic waste, ensuring a clean, beautiful and sustainable environment.
“Through the Vegetarian Food Festival, we hope that Ho Chi Minh City will become known not only for its delicious food, but also as a center for spreading the green and healthy living movement. Each vegetarian dish is a message, and each tourist is a messenger who spreads the values of love and sustainability,” BTC representatives said at a press conference on the afternoon of October 20.
