The whole country looks towards the 2026 high school graduation exam: “You should confidently enter the exam room”

The high school graduation exam is an event that millions of candidates and families across the country watch with interest each year, because this is a milestone marking the 12-year journey of reading books.

This year, the exam takes on special meaning as it marks an important turning point in the history of education. All candidates will agree to take the exam according to the 2018 general education program with a single set of exam questions, unlike in 2025 when two sets of questions will still be applied in parallel. This is the first batch of students to take the exam completely according to the new program – a journey that is no less arduous but also full of bravery.The exam takes place from June 10 to 12, with candidates officially taking the exam on June 11 and 12, with 3 exam sessions including a Math exam, a Literature exam and an optional exam.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha – Deputy Director of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training – the 2026 high school graduation exam still follows the direction of assessing practical capacity, closely following the new program, keeping the differentiation ratio: 40% awareness level, 30% understanding level and 30% application level.

This structure shows that the exam not only tests the ability to memorize, but requires students to think, analyze and apply knowledge to real life – in the true spirit of an education.
