Hanoian Story – From the small kitchen in the old town to the Hanoian Kitchen of tomorrow
In the heart of bustling Hanoi, there is a small kitchen that retains the flavor of home meals – simple, familiar and full of love. That is Hanoian Kitchen, where the journey to preserve the soul of Hanoi cuisine begins.
2018 – Small kitchen in the middle of the old town
Hanoian Kitchen was born in 2018, in a small house in the middle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. At that time, this place was a simple combination of a lovely hostel, a small coffee corner and a kitchen specializing in serving lunch to guests near and far.
People call it Hanoian Kitchen – not just because of the name, but because of the way that kitchen makes people feel at home. The trays of rice are filled with sour soup, fried beans, braised meat, and boiled spinach – nothing fancy, nothing ostentatious – just the warmth and sincerity of Hanoi people for each other.
Hanoian Kitchen at that time was a small corner preserving the old way of life, where visitors could enjoy a simple Vietnamese meal in the heart of the bustling old town.

2020 – When the kitchen is silent
Then the epidemic came, the streets were deserted, the hostel closed, and the small kitchen temporarily stopped smoking. But in the hearts of those who work at Hanoian Kitchen, the fire of love for the profession has never gone out.
Even though there is no longer the sound of a roasting pan or the sound of boiling water on the stove, the love for Hanoi cuisine – with its old but heartwarming values - still smolders, waiting to be rekindled.
2022 – Hanoian Kitchen in Linh Lang
After a two-year hiatus, in 2022, Hanoian returns with a new name – Hanoian Kitchen – at Linh Lang. The space is smaller, but filled with more love and enthusiasm.
Here, diners can meet familiar dishes: a bowl of sour and vinegar soup, pieces of tofu marinated with onions, a bowl of crispy eggplant, or a plate of fragrant roasted pork belly. Each dish is not only delicious, but also reminds us of the feeling of home, of meals spent together with parents, of a small kitchen where the sound of jingling bowls and chopsticks mixes with laughter.

Hanoian Kitchen has become a place to preserve the spirit of “home-cooked meals in the heart of the city”, a familiar stop in the middle of a noisy city.
2025 – Returns to the name Hanoian Kitchen
Seven years since the first day, Hanoian Kitchen officially returned to Hoang Ngoc Phach street – in a small but nostalgic old dormitory. The space is modest, but every little corner is taken care of, because to Hanoian, the important thing is not the area, but the emotions that the kitchen brings to diners.
It’s still Hanoian Kitchen like the first day – but more mature, more thoughtful, and still retains the core thing that makes the brand: cooking the most authentic Hanoi dishes, the way Hanoians still cook for their loved ones.

The return of Hanoian Kitchen is not just the opening of a restaurant, but the return of a soul of Hanoi – where each dish, each flavor contains the memories, love and pride of the people of the ancient land.
Maintain the original flavor – Spread the spirit of old Hanoi
Amidst new eateries popping up every day, Hanoian Kitchen still chooses its own path – the path of authenticity.
Not following sophisticated trends, not modernizing dishes in strange ways, Hanoian just hopes to keep the old Hanoi flavor intact – of the dishes his mother cooked, of childhood memories in the small kitchen.
Every bowl of sour and vinegar soup, every plate of charred roasted meat, every steaming snail hotpot is a piece of Hanoi. There is sophistication in seasoning, care in choosing ingredients, and the sincere love of the cook put into each dish.

Hanoian Kitchen believes that food is not only about taste, but also about memories, culture and emotions. It’s the most simple things – like a home-cooked meal, a bowl of hot soup, the waiter’s smile – that make people remember forever.
Hanoian’s journey – from a small kitchen in the old town to a warm house on Hoang Ngoc Phach street – is a return journey.
Return to the old flavors, with kindness in every dish, with the elegant and loving spirit of Hanoi.
Hanoian Kitchen – preserving the original flavor, spreading the spirit of old Hanoi.
