International travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler (USA) has just announced rankings within the framework of the annual Readers’ Choice Awards 2025. In the category “Most attractive culinary destination”, Vietnam is ranked 4th in the list of 15 countries.

This award is voted based on the reviews of Condé Nast Traveler readers – global travelers who have directly experienced cuisine in many different countries. Readers were asked to pick the places that “really tantalize travellers’ taste buds” this year. Most of the honored countries achieved high levels of satisfaction, with an average score of 94% or higher, indicating high consensus from readers.

With 96.67 points, Vietnamese cuisine has received high appreciation from international friends. Vietnam is only behind Thailand (98.33%), Italy (96.92%) and Japan (96.77%). This ranking helps Vietnam surpass many other culinary powers such as Spain (95.91 points) and France (94.00 points).

This year’s rankings bring together unique cuisines from all continents, proving that there is no single recipe for excellent cuisine, including: Thailand, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, Spain, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Greece, South Africa, Peru, Maldives, Colombia, Morocco, France and Turkey.

Vietnamese cuisine is highly appreciated for its fresh, rich ingredients and harmonious combination of elements. Flexible processing style and affordable price are also big pluses.

Ingredients in Vietnam, especially rice, are praised as the freshest. Rice appears in many forms such as steaming rice bowls, elegant vermicelli noodles, or spring rolls and is always topped with local vegetables, tender meat and passionate herbal aroma.

Visitors can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine in every space, from small roadside shops, Cai Rang floating market, small alley shops like Xom Chieu – which serves “top dishes of Vietnamese cuisine at extremely cheap prices”, to high-end restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.

Besides popular experiences, Condé Nast Traveler magazine also mentions high-end restaurants emerging in Vietnam.

A good example is Ciel Dining

This result continues to affirm the increasingly high position of Vietnamese cuisine in the eyes of international tourists. Notably, at the Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 voted by Condé Nast Traveler readers, Vietnam was also ranked in the top 10 “World’s most attractive destinations” and “World’s friendliest destinations”.
